Private Instruction

The cornerstone of Los Feliz Guitar Lessons is private one-on-one guitar lessons. Quite possibly the best way to learn how to play an instrument, private instruction has been the default method of learning how to play music in every culture for centuries. There’s nothing quite like having a great teacher demonstrate, explain and give immediate feedback to the student in real time. Also the accountability that private lessons require is a huge added value for the student- needing to practice and have the lessons material prepared for each week’s successive lesson goes a long way in motivating each student to progress.

Joe has been teaching private guitar lessons to people of all ages since 1992. He also has extensive experience teaching group and band lessons as well as instructing students at the collegiate level. Outside of teaching, he has worked in nearly every genre as a session musician while keeping a steady schedule as a performing guitarist having toured all over the country with multiple touring acts.

Joe also endorses Grosh Guitars as well as Fryette Amplifiers. With the latter he co-hosts a bi-weekly podcast as well as acting as the go-to content creator and online demonstration guy for the brand. Here’s a quick interview with Joe.

Online Lessons

For those who aren’t able to travel to the studio, online lessons have become a popular way to get guided instruction through the “next best thing to being there”. All of the same material and topics can be taught via the web and can be done on Facetime, Zoom or Skype.  All lessons materials are easily emailed or Dropboxed to the student as the lesson progresses and students have had a very favorable reaction to this process.
